The Symud Ymlaen / Moving Forward project provides young people who have offended and those leaving the care system greater access to employment and training.
The project supports young people undertaking a six month paid work placement, with a range of employers across Wales, with the aim that the employer will continue to employ the young person once their placement has ended.
For young people needing extra support the project offers bespoke training in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT, as well as generic employability skills
The funding for the project has been made available through “Getting Ahead” a Welsh Government initiative, funded through dormant bank accounts and administered by the Big Fund. The project is delivered by a consortium of partners led by Llamau.
As part of our role in the project we deliver training in Mid and West Wales and our team of Employment Liaison Officers source the work placements throughout Wales, working with a network of SMEs and social enterprises.
